30 Days of Gratitude

2 Corinthians 9:12-15, ‘Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the basic needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they will respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thank God for this gift, His gift. No language [on earth] can praise it enough (MSG)!’

Day 3 * Just Grateful: Warmly or deeply appreciative of kindnesses or benefits received; indebted and beholden

I think this has been the most political season I have ever planted myself in. Lord, I wonder if before, I didn’t care as much or maybe I didn’t know you cared as much. Your heart is so evident to me, Father, this beating, bleeding pulse throbbing with its wrenching ache for your children to humble their humanity and pray. And I realize what an honor that you allow us to participate in your hope for this world. Lord, you have spared us so much, forgiven us so greatly. Thank you for this great nation that was created because of the ideal you have for your people. Thank you for the men and women who have given their lives so that I could be free, just like your Son gave His life that I might truly live in freedom. And thank you that no matter what happens today, you alone are in control. Although we the people will decide the President who takes office, who will lead us for the upcoming years, you, our God are ultimately the guiding force that governs us. While you might allow turmoil and tragedy, you will always remain victorious on your children’s behalf. God bless our president and God bless America. ‘My heart overflows with praise to you, God, and for your promises, I will always trust you. So I’m thanking you with all my heart, with gratitude for all you’ve done. I will do everything I’ve promised you, Lord. Psalm 56:11-12 (TPT).’
