30 Days of Gratitude
(2 Chronicles 7:14), ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and heal their land (NIV).’
Day 4 * Just Grateful: Warmly or deeply appreciative of kindnesses or benefits received; indebted and beholden
The picture came across my screen, and Lord, I almost buckled at my knees. The family with small children standing on the steps of some capital building, praying peace, hope, righteousness, for our nation. That is servanthood, Lord, and I praise You today that there is still a heart in this nation that beats for You; that the drumbeat of revival rumbles ‘God Bless America’; that citizens of this great country still bleed red, white and blue.
God, You promise in Your Word that if the people who are called by Your name will humble themselves and pray, if those people will seek Your face and turn from wickedness, that You will hear from heaven, You will forgive our sin and You will heal our land. God, we need all of this and we need You to accomplish it. We need Your peace, hope and righteousness. We need You to hear in heaven the cries of Your children. We need You to give the forgiveness that You promised and that You alone can cleanse absolution of our sin. We need You to heal our wretched condition that shakes angry fists at one another where once we held hands in unity; to open our blinded eyes to the color-bias judgement we weld like a weapon. We need You, o God, to revive health in us from not only a virus pandemic but also the conditions of our hearts which manifest in worldwide tragedies of addiction, human trafficking and abortion. If little kids can stand on steps at a capital and pray to You, God, then I can take up my cross and carry on behalf of America, because ‘my heart overflows with praise to you, God, and for your promises, I will always trust you. So I’m thanking you with all my heart, with gratitude for all you’ve done. I will do everything I’ve promised you, Lord. Psalm 56:11-12 (TPT).’
