You’re A Mighty Hero
When faced with life’s challenges, we may feel helpless, limited, and powerless. I’ve had a lot of challenges that have made me feel weak, powerless, and unskilled. When the Israelites were persecuted by the Midianite, Gideon, the son of Joash of the Abiezer tribe, felt like this too. He felt weak, powerless and unskilled. Because the Midianite was so ruthless, the Israelites sought refuge in the mountains, caves, and strongholds. God, on the other hand, was ready to release his people from oppression after they called out for help. How did God deliver his people from their distress at the time?
God sent Gideon an angel who told him, “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you!” However, Gideon poses a question that I believe most individuals ponder when confronted with a problem. Gideon was clearly fed up with the oppression and asked the angel, “If the LORD is with us, why has all this occurred to us?” But now the LORD has forsaken us and given us to the Midianites. But Gideon didn’t realize that, despite the hardships, difficulty, God was on the side of the Israelites. Surprisingly, God is also with you in the middle of the oppression. Ignore any thoughts that make you believe God isn’t on your side.
Gideon was eventually ordered to fight the Midianites by the Lord’s angel, but he was visibly terrified because his clan was the weakest in the entire Manasseh tribe. He still considers himself to be the least in his family. But, in the end, do you know what happened? As he took a leap of faith, God was with him. He and his troops battled like a single man against the experienced Midianites. Isn’t it intriguing?
God wants you to be aware that you are a powerful hero. He wants you to live your life as if you were a mighty hero. God doesn’t want you to believe you’re weak or that being the youngest in your family is your lot in life. Don’t be fooled by thinking you’re inexperienced. God will make your life better if you think better. I believe and declare that if you do this, God will fill you with his ever-present power, and you will go through life as a mighty hero. Amen.
