FOOL-ish, i.e. lacking judgement or sense; ill-considered; unwise; preposterous; thoughtless; reckless; absurd; idiotic.
SATAN, i.e. the SERPENT
Genesis 3:1, ‘Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.’
Since before the foundation of the world, our Maker, the God of the Universe, our Father, a Holy God, has been dreaming of you and me. He had an amazing Plan, and He wrote us into His script. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been written as a main character into too many stories. I’ve not been a heroine before, nor have I had too many starring roles. But my Father had a great story He was writing, a story of rescue and redemption, and He dreamt of a role for me to play in His-story, and He thought of you too, and He scripted us both in; in fact, all of mankind was written as characters into His-story.
So, we enter this story and the Lord God’s brooding Spirit has just hovered over the deep and a world has formed under the belly of His Being. He winked, and light blinked back; He brushed a stroke across the sky and color filled the earth. He balanced His handiwork, and the light and dark, day and night, spread before Him on a flowing canvas. Color and life grew and covered the barrenness which existed previously. He then reached into the dirt, mixing Himself with the mud and breathed His breath into our lungs and a heartbeat was heard beating across generations and eons of time. We were and we are the greatest creation the Lord God made. His desire for you and me and the fellowship with humanity which He imagined into existence would ultimately bring about the fall of mankind through the fool-ishness of one He formed who saw himself an equal. But there will never be one equal to God, no not one; and, it is fool-ish to consider or be relentless in that pursuit. But God’s enemy will not cease in his endeavor to overcome…God.
Isaiah 14:12-15a, ‘”How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down…”’ (NKJV)
So, it is merely my opinion, but I’m pretty sure the fool-ishness which spawned in the mind of Satan, i.e., the serpent, to be equal to God, to be on the same level of, or to be yearning for, the glory belonging to God alone, has caused an unending competition deep in the heart of Lucifer, which plays itself out in mankind. Satan is still cunning; his acts are still crafty, but they are fool-ish, and will always end in destruction. Think of it this way, the more shamed we feel, the more shamed the enemy of our souls ultimately is.
