True Love
One of the most amazing things in this world is the true love that God has for us. His love is the same every day and never changes. He loves you more than you can imagine. Our brains find this truth hard to grasp. We look at all our faults and shortcomings, but our Father God looks at us with such love, compassion, mercy, and grace. He showed His love by sending His only son to die for you so you could have eternal life and become His child.
I want to encourage you today that you are never alone, never unloved. No matter where you are in your life today, whether it’s good, bad, or just ugly, God loves you. Take a moment to absorb this truth. He truly loves you. Let this truth comfort you and make you want to be a better person, to rise against all adversaries and shout “I am loved.”
People’s love may come and go, but God’s love is unchanging. There is nothing you can do to change this. He will always love you. He knows you aren’t perfect, but He has a plan for that. He wants to help you with every step of your day, be in every situation you find yourself in, guide and lead you out of your troubles showing you a better path.
I don’t know about you, but this overwhelms me. That God loves me! It makes me want to shout and surrender myself more to Him. Surely someone who loves me that much would have my back and never guide me wrong. Wouldn’t I be a fool not to appreciate this love and allow it to control my life?
“We love because God first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
When you feel despair and are alone, remember God’s love for you. Let it wash over you and heal the hurts and wounds. I know we don’t deserve it, but that’s what’s so beautiful about God’s love. He gives it to us for free, no strings attached.
Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever to him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever.
~ Psalm 136:2-3
How precious is your unfailing love, O God! ~ Psalm 36:7
Help me, LORD my God; save me according to your unfailing love Psalm 109:26
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
~ Isaiah 41:10
Isn’t it time for you to let go of the past, forgive those that have done you wrong and surrender to this amazing love? I know how hard this can be. My dad abused me for years. God spoke to me about forgiving him and I thought I had heard wrong. I mean, all the terrible things he had done to me, how could I just let that go? But God showed me it wasn’t for my dad’s sake that I needed to forgive, but for myself.
I was bitter, angry, and hurting it was eating me up. I was becoming a bitter person. God wanted to heal the wounds, but he couldn’t until I forgave my dad. This was difficult for me. I had to do it by faith because my emotions were not lining up. I told God, “I’m doing this only because you ask me.”
The emotions came later. The tears flowed and healing came. You can read about it in my book–My Journey To Enjoying My Life. I go into detail about how I did this.
Letting go of my past and embracing what God had for me has changed my life. I married a godly Christian man, and we raised our two boys in a Christian home. They are now married to Christian women and my three grandkids are learning all about Jesus.
If I didn’t let go of the hurt and not forgive, do you think any of this would have been possible? I hate to think what kind of legacy I would have if I didn’t give all my pain to God and surrender my life to Him.
God wants to move into your life. He wants to help you in your world. Let His love bring healing and restore the years that were stolen from you.
“And I will compensate you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust — My great army which I sent among you. Joel 2:25.
Will you allow God to restore you? Will you let His love make you whole and bring you His abundant life? He wants to be your guiding light. Are you ready to let God be in the driving seat? You can trust Him, He will never hurt you.
