Being a mom is sometimes so tough on the heart that we can only hope that Jesus will take us to a quite place so that we can just cry out to God. The moment we become a mom, our life is no longer just about us. It becomes enveloped in the world of raising a baby. Every thing that baby needs, we must make sure that he/she gets. This will continue until that child is grown and living in the world as an adult. Our life is about someone else. This is even true as far as marriage goes. Our life is about making sure our marriage is healthy.
As a Christian, this is also the true description of how we should be living life. It is not about what makes us feel good. It is about how God wants to use us to reach others. Our life is not about how much money we can make, but rather how much love can we share; or how can we let the hurting soul know that they are not alone. It’s hard to lay down what we want in order to see others receive. Only when we chose to follow God’s direction in our lives are we truly happy and content to give up the things we think we need or want. Making life about others is what God has called us to do. We are to share the gospel, love others as He loves us and speak encouraging words to all those who are feeling lost and alone.
Rather than concern ourselves with the latest trendy purse we think we need, how about we concern ourselves with the neighbor down the road who is in need of hope because she lost a husband. Make life worthwhile and make it about others.
