Love Your Neighbor Challenge — Day 29
Love Meets Needs
It’s the most natural thing in the world to see the world from our perspective. We define our world as we and they.
We love we. We define our identity with a careful selection of the use of we in our world. “We had a great trip.” “We offer great service.” “We make a difference in the world.” “This is what we believe.” or “This is how we worship.”
Then there’s they. “They don’t understand.” “They are insensitive.” “They think the world runs that way.” They becomes a collection of people outside of ourselves. Often we use this word to convey all that’s wrong with the world.
Love dissolves the boundaries between we and they. Jesus issues an invitation to all people, to “whosoever will.” How can we then erect false barriers that divide. Let’s honor the Lord’s view of the world and offer our love to whomever we see today.
Our Love Your Neighbor Challenge ends on Friday! But it’s not too late to join us! This has the power to change your world.
