Today’s hope is inspired by Peter. I have always been a fan of Peter’s. He was such an amazing disciple, even though he denied Christ, he still went on to do great things. I mean just think of all the stories that we read involving Peter. He was known as the gatekeeper and was one of the few Biblical people to have their name changed. He was also one of the closest companions to Jesus. Even though he had some rough patches during his discipleship, Peter still knew Jesus was the Messiah. He was the only disciple with enough faith to walk on water, although it was a short walk, he still took the steps. After he had denied Christ three times, he was mentioned specifically by Jesus when the tomb was found empty. Jesus in a sense had called him to restoration, and from then on, Peter would become one of the most influential Apostles. There even came a time when Peter’s shadow would bring healing.

So, here we are in 1 Peter chapter two and we read where Peter is saying to us “You are chosen.” What a wonderful statement to come from Peter. After all the denials, Peter was restored and really understood what it means to be God’s chosen people. Just like those in the old testament, we are chosen as royalty through the blood of Jesus. We obtain mercy because of the love of God and the love of Jesus when He lay down His life for us.

We are a peculiar people. We are a people that God chooses. We are precious because He chooses us as His people.

LadyBug know today that just as Peter was called to restoration at the tomb, you are called to be that peculiar woman. He has great things for you!
