For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole whatsoever disease he had. John 5:4 (KJV)
After checking into the history of the Bethesda pool, I found that it is the thought to have been a Jewish ritual bath. These baths are called mikvahs (MICK-vuh) and are used by the Jewish when converting to Judaism and when Jewish women get married. The pool at Bethesda was different than most in that it had five porches or porticos where those who were invalid (blind, lame, diseased) would gather in hopes of being the first in the pool after an angel has stirred the water.
As I continued to read the history of this pool, it occurred to me that all too often we are in a place of relationship with Jesus that we don’t have to wait for the water to be stirred. Not only that, but we don’t have to be an invalid in order to be healed. We don’t have to be physically sick to know the wonderful healing power of Bethesda.
When we are emotionally drained we can call on our Savior to refresh our soul and heal the wounds that cause our pain.
LadyBug don’t get caught up in the legalities of waiting for your healing, walk around that pool and go straight to the Healer. The water was stirred on Calvary when Jesus defeated death.
Let us know where our healing comes from and stop waiting for everyone to get out of our way.
Much Love,
