But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober and watch unto prayer, and above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 1 Peter 4:7-9 (KJV)

We find Peter reminding us that the world is changing. How true is this for the year of 2020? So many things about the way we do life has changed. Just as they were forewarned about the flood and the destruction of the temple, we are forewarned that this world we know is changing and coming to an end one day. He wants to remind us to be diligent and watchful as we pray. But above all, we need to have charity (love) toward each other. Just as the love of God has covered our multitude of sins, we need to love others in a way that they know their sins were covered by the love of Jesus on the Cross. Peter goes one step further and tells us that we need to have hospitality with one another. When one is in need, the other needs to offer help to them. Should one of us need food, another should feed us; should one of us need shelter, then one of us should shelter them. We all have the opportunity to feed and shelter each other.

LadyBug. know that you are given the authority to be the extension of God’s love in this chaos and divided world. Love them because you are loved by Him.

Let us be mindful of what we are called to be as a body of Christ. In these days of chaos and division, we, as Christians, should be willing to be the hands, feet, eyes, ears, and mouth of God.

“But if we are the body
Why aren’t His arms reaching?
Why aren’t His hands healing?
Why aren’t His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren’t His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?”
