30 Days Gratitude

2 Corinthians 9:12-15, ‘Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the basic needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they will respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thank God for this gift, His gift. No language [on earth] can praise it enough (MSG)!’

Day 2 *Just Grateful: Warmly or deeply appreciative of kindnesses or benefits received; indebted and beholden
Jesus, what is wrong with me? When did you step down off that throne and put me there? I don’t recall that but I seem to be acting as if you put me in charge. I have an opinion about everyone, and it rolls right off my tongue without hesitation before I can even ponder whether I should take it back before it is even said. I seem to have regurgitated all the pessimistic political pressures that have been hammering us for months as if people want one more judgment to consider. For once, Jesus, I am going to bite back my retort and swallow my sentiment. Thank you that you see me and the next person through the same lens of love, not as the critic of contempt I have been! Reset my words so that ‘my heart overflows with praise to you, God, and for your promises, I will always trust you. So I’m thanking you with all my heart, with gratitude for all you’ve done. I will do everything I’ve promised you, Lord. Psalm 56:11-12 (TPT).’
