Rooted and Built-up in Him

This tree represents us. If we dig our roots deep into good soil we are truly going to bear fruit. But what if we actually cling to the rock? Did you know some trees actually do this? What a great image for us as we try to thrive connected to Jesus. This painting is now in it’s owners home, a 20×20 commission. My pastor’s wife spoke on this subject at our ladies retreat and I knew I just had to paint this image!

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. (Theme verse of last retreat)
Colossians 2:6-7 – Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
