And Jesus said unto him, “Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.”
Mark 10:18 (KJV)
As we begin to experience the holiday season, we find ourselves searching for goodness. We are putting it in our hearts to focus on joy and peace. This has been a tough year. Everyone feels it and knows it. We are craving the goodness of times past. We are longing for the peace and joy that we all experienced in the years before technology.
How many times have you sat and thought about the way things were just 11 months ago? Can you even remember? I can recall a time when there was less rioting and more helping. I remember neighborhood moms looking out for all the neighborhood keys. I say all of this because I long to escape the chaos and sadness of what we have become as a nation.
In all my searching, the only goodness I can find is the peace that falls upon me when I get in the presence of God. The goodness of His grace as I walk my journey and miss the mark when I get angry at rush hour traffic. The goodness of His love as I lay my head on my pillow and remember that no matter what goes on in the world, I am redeemed, worthy and loved.
Recognizing the goodness of Jesus in knowing that He is the Son of God. It is in this goodness that we see the example of the goodness in God when we see His grace, patience, and kindness. Why do we call Him good? Because we know that He is the Son of God and He is our Savior.
LadyBug when you seek the goodness of the world know that in its truest form, it can only be found in God. His goodness is pure and holy, without agenda or conditions. As you walk your journey, seek the pure goodness that only God can display. Seek His goodness to lead you.
Let us know the purest goodness of the Father as we walk in this world of chaos.
Much Love,
