The sins of some people are conspicuous, going before them to judgement, but the sins of other appear later. So also, good works are conspicuous, and even those that are not cannot remain hidden.
1 Timothy 5:24-25. (ESV)
Even though we think our sins are tucked away in a hidden closet in the back of the house, you can bet they will eventually surface. That door will open, and they will come rolling out and just land in the middle of the floor. Leaving us standing over them wondering what we are going to do now. It is the same way when it come to the good works we do. We cannot keep them hidden away in the attic; they too will eventually come to light.
You see, those who are real in their walk with Jesus, they are not trying to hide sins or good works. They are doing their best to walk in rightness, but sometimes they make mistakes and find themselves repenting. They aren’t hiding the error because, well life happens. Just the same, they don’t think to hide the good they do simply because they know it is what they should be doing.
The thing is, those who feel they need to hide these things are not focused on their walk with Jesus; on the contrary, they are more concerned with what people will say if they know what they have done. They are more concerned with the judgment of men, rather than the judgement of God. They fail to realize that there is no perfect person, but there is a perfect Jesus. It is through Him that we are perfect whether we mess up or get it right.
LadyBug there will be days that you miss the mark and there will be days that you go beyond the target. Either way, as long as you are walking with Jesus, sin or good deed will be seen. There is no reason to hide either one of them.
Let us be transparent in this world of uncertainty. People are needing someone to trust. They want to know someone will be honest and forthcoming with them regardless of good or bad. Let us walk with integrity so that we can be the example of knowing its okay to trip as long as we grab Jesus to get our footing.
Much Love,
