30 Days of Gratitude
Ps 5:3, ‘At each and every sunrise You will hear my voice as I prepare my sacrifice of praise to You. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar and wait for Your fire to fall upon my heart (TPT).’
Day 28 * Just Grateful: Warmly or deeply appreciative of kindnesses or benefits received; indebted and beholden
Lamentations 3:22, ‘God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out; His merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great is Your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He is all I’ve got left (MSG).’ I’ve been thinking lately, Lord, about how amazing each new day is. Before the day even begins—as the sun seeps out into the sky like orange juice pouring from a bottle, upon the first moment of awakening, while gossamer dreams still lay like spun silk across my mind, while tiny traces of remnant imaginations are caught in a cobweb of slumber and wakefulness—before anything else, there You are found. What a promise a new day holds! White-washed and fresh, brand new, a clean slate. Nothing written on it, not a mark nor even an eraser smudge attempting to vanquish what was traced previously. A new beginning, untethered by yesterday’s disturbances and untainted by tomorrow’s concerns. God, in Your vast faithfulness, You must have known Your children would need a fresh start. Your mercies are new every morning.
‘My heart overflows with praise to you, God, and for your promises, I will always trust you. So I’m thanking you with all my heart, with gratitude for all you’ve done. I will do everything I’ve promised you, Lord. Psalm 56:11-12 (TPT).’
