Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)

The enemy wants nothing more than to see us give up and believe his lies. He wants to destroy us and keep us from falling into a relationship with Jesus. It is the goal of the enemy to bring destruction to the world even though he knows that the victory has already been won. We have to be ever mindful of what is going on around us so that we are aware of the snares and lies of the enemy. If we are not watchful, we may find ourselves standing in the company of the enemy rather than the presence of the Lord.

We know by this verse as well as others, there is an enemy that wants to destroy us with doubt and fear. We are being told that we have a choice to be sober-minded and watchful.

LadyBug as you go throughout your day, be diligent to know where your strength lies and keep your focus on the Savior. He is the one who will close the lion’s mouth and keep you in the safety of His tower.

Let us listen and see the things that happen around us, lest we fall prey to the evil one and his deceptions.
