30 Days with The Word – January 5
30 Days with THE WORD
January 5, 2021
John 1:1-2, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God (NKJV).’
I don’t know of another time, in my lifetime anyway, that I have needed a Word from my Father God more than right now. I mean, there have been plenty of times I have acknowledged I needed God, for Him to come through for me, a quick fix, a strident plea on a dark night. But many of those circumstances were because of a place where I found myself at, and often, where I found me was not where I left Him.
But right now, with the influx of this new normal, which is changing daily around me, all the havoc, all the chaos, right now I need a Word from the Author of my story. It is different this time. Because it is not about a situation I have caused that I likely have options to repair, redo, remanufacture results. But this time it has been done to me, to you, to all of us. It is out of our control to fix the repercussions of 2020.
In Isaiah 43:19-21, it says, ‘I am doing something brand new, something unheard of! Even now, it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert. Wild beasts, jackals, and owls will glorify me. For I supply streams of water in the desert and rivers in the wilderness to satisfy the thirst of my people, my chosen ones, so that you, whom I have shaped and formed for myself will proclaim my praise (TPT).’
Because of this Word from our Father, we know how this story goes, and it is far from finished. We also can be assured that we will revel in victory with the Creator of this universe because He didn’t author a story where the enemy wins and He loses. Dear One: Dear Fatigued, Dear Defeated, Dear Hopeless, Dear Broken, Dear Lost, Dear Discouraged, Dear Wondering, Dear Crippled, Dear Addicted, Dear Struggling, Dear Captive, Dear Friend, you are cared for and you are loved. But not only that, your Father shaped you and He formed you. That means He knows every intimate detail of your design, even the misshapen and broken and disfigured dream inside your soul, and He chose you anyway to be a part of His victory story. And if He made you for Himself, it is only realistic to admit that you are a prize to Him, a sonnet, His MasterPiece. He truly is doing something new in each one of us, and if we will stick to this journey with Him, we will find provision in the wildernesses of life and relief that quenches in the driest of places.
