Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning! It’s time to cleanse
Time to rinse; time for mends.
Time to rid what’s stored inside
That’s got to go; the hope that’s died.
The rotting peace, the broken dreams,
All the things not as they seem.
Time to find that buried self,
Shoved in a corner, hidden on that shelf.
Time to remove what doesn’t bless
Your inside rooms, littered with mess.
So much clutter and wasted space;
Grime on the heart, tears on the face.
If it bogs us down, it’s got to go.
We misused time and shriveled our souls.
Clean the windows, purge and dust,
Take out the trash is really a must.
We’ve stuffed the hurt, kept track of wrongs.
We hide what’s unhealthy to just get along.
Once we’ve cleaned and rid and stored,
We’ll find I’m sure where we left You, Lord.
