Nancy Huber

I am a wife, and a mother to two daughters and two sons, and grandmother to two adorable grandsons.

I am also an artist, an author, and an entrepreneur.

One of my passions is writing.

My father was and still is a walking history book, reciting all the Roman Emperors names and dates to me when I was a little girl.

So, it came as no surprise, when I wrote my very first historical fiction, Escape Through Time, set in ancient Rome.

Not having liked history very much as a child, I realized it wasn’t the history I wasn’t interested in, it was the dry, boring history books which had turned me off as a child.

It is my goal to attract people to history. And it is my goal to make history come alive through my novels.

When I began writing my second book, Kingdom of Eternity, which is centered around the 10 plagues in ancient Egypt, I decided to study Egyptology at the University of Manchester, England. I wanted to get an even deeper experience with history; my hearts desire and hope that this will shine through in my story.

Another passion is dogs.

I’ve had a special connection to dogs ever since I can remember. I was left on my own often as a very young child, and I would seek out people walking their dogs. I would approach them, asking them if I could come for a walk with them. Can you imagine doing that nowadays???

Eleven years ago, we moved up north in British Columbia, where Yahweh found a huge European house for us. The house was very spacious, and we finally had our own property. So naturally, the dream of starting a dog boarding business came alive, and we called it Pet & Breakfast. Three years ago, our youngest daughter and I began adding dog grooming to our services.

One would think I would eventually grow tired of dogs, yet, every time my husband and I go to town, and I see a dog somewhere – where do you think I am? Dogs are like a magnet to me. I will never grow tired of them.

My other passion is painting.

I have been painting as long as I’ve been writing. Perhaps the two just go together – in my life.

There is nothing more satisfying then moving the brush, loaded with color, across the surface (usually a wall, because I love painting murals). I do also paint on silk which has the similar effect as aquarelle painting, also known as water color.

It’s immensely satisfying and stress releasing.

I love living on my little farm complete with goats and chickens, a horse, turkeys and Artretes, my guard dog.

I am surrounded by trees and mountains – one of the best places in the world.

When I am not writing, or painting, you can find me somewhere on our property, chasing chickens or goats – and spoiling our horse, who thinks she’s a goat.
