Kids Clubhouse Devotional: June
Summer School
Welcome to June Children!
Most of you have probably heard the song, “No more teachers……No more books……No more teacher’s dirty looks! Some of my older children who read this quite possibly have even sang this song to their friends.
Your parents and teachers have seen you work hard this year. I know most of you have probably had to do tasks in a school setting differently than ever before. However, if you are reading this right now, God has helped you through the difficult school year, and you have coasted on into summer. Summer often means hot weather, ice cream, running through the sprinklers, eating watermelon. All of this is fun……..but, did you know there is a different kind of school in the summer?
Yes, my friends……welcome to Vacation Bible School, or VBS for short This is one of my very favorite times of the year. Children often have fond memories of snacks, crafts, singing, and games……but, the real reason to go to VBS is to learn about God and his love for you. The older kids who are reading this may have been going to this week long type camp for several years. However, if it is your first time, you may be nervous, and that is ok. God has his protective arms around you. It is also important that if you do not understand something in the Bible, it is ok to ask questions. The VBS staff will be happy to tell you anything you want to know.
So, are you ready for a week of fun, games, and God. Ask your grown-up to take you to church and sign you up for VBS, where you will fall in love with Jesus.
Matthew 19:14 NIV “And Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
