Tired Hands

Hebrews 12:12-13, ‘So be made strong even in your weakness by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship. And strengthen your weak knees, for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed.’ (TPT)

I used to be in construction. I owned a construction company and we primarily built and remodeled bowling centers. I worked right alongside the other laborers when I was on location. By the end of the day, I was exhausted. My hands were exhausted, my body tired, my knees weak. Sometimes it took everything for me to be able to climb stairs or pull myself into the truck to drive to the motel.

By this time in my life now my hands are really tired. I did great damage to them, using them for a purpose that was maybe too much for this girl. But there is something amazing about our ‘I Do’ to God when we lift tired hands in prayer and worship, when we sing His praises and lift up His goodness. There is a supernatural healing that falls around us as we lift up our weariness to worship the Giver of life, the very One Who breathed life into our dry bones and flattened lungs. He pulls us from the dust where we are facedown in our fatigue and props us on our frail knees, and as the warbles of adoration spill from our lips, the body, mind and spirit is strengthened, and we truly can raise what was once drooping with renewed vigor and honor and commendation. And what’s more, praise will always bring spiritual healing to our souls and hearts which effects everything else positively in our lives.

What a promise ‘I Do’ is! Whether we are committing to a person
or simply being intentional in life, our word should be a cherished commodity.
This month, journey with me in ‘I Do’ moments which are an oath, a vow, a pact,
a pledge, an honorarium.
