WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
the heart of Biblical Greats
October 1st, 2021
Have you ever wondered where are they now?
The heroes we read about and to those we bow.
The greats who lead us, the forefathers too,
When the limelight faded and gone was the view
Of how it was to walk and talk with God
And travel the roads where Jesus trod?
What had to have come of so many giants
Who wrestled and slay the disbelief and defiance?
What about Moses and the Sea that was Red?
What became of Jonah after he fled?
Did Elijah really disappear in the wind?
Where did Isaiah go when he asked God to send Him?
After waters receded and the land dried out,
Did God give Noah a new ocean route?
We know animals multiplied from two to many,
But what happened to this sailor; are there details, if any?
Joseph recovered the good God had intended
Though Satan hoped harm not to be mended.
Throughout the pages, Satan continues to flaunt—
What has become of his threats and his taunts?
What happened in the years when God grew silent?
And evil marauded and wandering turned violent?
I wonder where Martha went? Did Lazarus grow old?
Where are they who penned the greatest love story told?
Do you suppose Pontius surrendered to Jesus?
Did he or Herod ever admit that He frees us?
What would it be like to dry His feet with your tears?
Do they still sit by His side as He calms all their fears?
What about Paul—does he still bear a thorn?
Because of his teaching, mine is accepted and worn.
I wrestle with Judas and his unhappy forever—
Does he wish now that back then he had never?
Does Mary still ponder these things in her heart?
She birthed the Promise God chose to impart.
Where is the Spirit God pledged would come?
Is He still here in our midst, the Indivisible Sum?
Do you search for Jesus, wonder where has He gone?
Did He give up on you; wonder, has He moved on?
Maybe you read the Good Book; once believed all the vows,
But it seems far away as you ask where they are now.
John 3:16-17, ‘”For here is the way God loved the world—He gave His only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in Him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!”’ (TPT)
