Isn’t it wonderful to know that we have been made free from the old laws because of the gift of salvation that was given to us by Jesus and the cross? Because of these, we were brought into a new covenant with God through our faith. When God made His covenant with Abraham, He knew what was to come. He knew that through the blood of Jesus, we would come to know salvation and through our faith, we would become His children. Everyone is a child of God, but our faith is what brings us righteousness. He wants to see all of His people saved, but He loves us enough to give us the freedom to choose. So, it is through our faith that we are brought into His righteousness. It is not because of the Mosaic laws, religion, or reading our Bible. It is because God promised blessings and favor to those who believe in Him and walk with Him faithfully. Living according to the law doesn’t justify us into the righteousness of God.
Jesus became the curse of the law so that we could become redeemed through the blood. The blessing of Abraham’s faithfulness comes to us when we choose to accept Jesus as our Savior and follow Him. The law does not save us nor does it void the redemption we have through Abraham’s covenant. Are you with me here? Therefore, even though the Mosaic law was in place at the time of the covenant made with Abraham, freedom was given because of faith. That is why it is important for us to know the faithfulness of Abraham and its impact.
LadyBug, Jesus hung on the cross not only for our salvation but for our freedom from the religious laws that keep us in bondage to works and not faith.
Let us rejoice in the freedom and sing songs of thanksgiving always
