BE-Gratitudes: 30 Days of Positive Attitudes – Challenged

Day Twelve: Challenged
I Corinthians 12:4-6, ‘There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.’ (NIV)
There are more than enough challenges today, don’t you agree? Every channel on TV sports another race, show, competition, game, challenge, reality, bet, and on and on. We are also challenged to watch what we eat, and don’t eat, what we wear and how we wear it, what style and face we put on, how we celebrate and support others and who it is we give patronage to. What once seemed private in life now is lived out publicly and socially on every platform that garners our attention. That has turned life into a whole other kind of challenge, and it has changed the scope of our thinking and acceptances and conversations and goals, just to name a few.
I am so very thankful, Jesus, that we are not pit against one another in order to gain your love and attention. I am grateful, God, that Your affection is so great for Your children that You pursue us with a relentless grace, an everlasting love. We don’t have to compete for Your acceptance or do tricks to be heard, but You purpose us toward a higher calling, one that bears the perfect example from an exemplary Servant. Yes, we are challenged, but that is only for our good and Your glory. I pray I show up everyday, willing to be challenged to be a better version of me than I was the day before.
