BE-Gratitudes: 30 Days of Positive Attitudes – STRONG
November 3rd, 2021
Day Three: STRONG
Deuteronomy 31:56, ‘Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; He won’t leave you.’ (MSG)
Perhaps being weak carries more strength than being strong. And I wonder, does it take more courage to be weak or to be strong? There is definite strength in weakness because it denotes an attitude of yielding, giving it up to the One Who always can.
However, we are called to be a strong force for the Lord; to be certain in our stance and courageous in our fight for souls and our battle for obedience and honor to the God of the Universe. The world has become like a bully at recess on the playground and its intimidation practices play a tremendous role in people’s demeanor. Mockery and social media control conversations and relationships face false realities. We live in a plastic democracy and while we are not encouraged to be strong and courageous, we are chided to one-up those around us.
Lord, I am so grateful that in my weakness You are made strong and that You give me the wherewithal and ability to stand firm for you. Dress me in Your armor so that I might be ready to show up and fight against the offenses of the enemy with You.
Describe a time recently You had supernatural strength to stay strong in order for the Lord to prevail.
Luke 21:19, ‘Stand firm, and you will win life.’ (NIV)
