CWL’s Kids Faith Clubhouse — March Devotion
Joining the Trinity
Hi Boys and Girls! When you think of Christ centered holidays, what comes to mind? The first answer most of you come up with is Christmas. Each of the first six letters actually spell Christ, right? A close second would be Easter because Jesus actually died on Good Friday, and rose again on Easter Sunday.
Then, there are the lesser known Christ centered holidays, such as Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not actually considered a religious holiday, but it can be a spiritual one. We give thanks for our many blessings while eating a big turkey dinner and watching thirty-seven football games.
St. Patricks Day is what Ms. Brittany calls an ordinary holiday. If green is your favorite color, you’re in luck! Wear green all day, and you will not be pinched! (And, yes, green underwear counts!) However, there is more than leprechauns when considering what St. Patrick’s Day stands for.
Boys and girls……..did you know that the shamrock can be tied with the Holy Trinity? This green leaf is actually made from three hearts joined together. The prefix Tri means three, if you think back to
English class. The first heart represents God, the Father. The second heart links itself with the first and represents Jesus, the Son. The last heart faces the opposite direction and represents the Holy Spirit. The shamrock stem is used to connect the three hearts into one. Shamrocks are small. However, it is good to remember no matter how little you are……you are God’s child and you can do great and mighty things. Listen to Jesus, and he will not lead you down the wrong path
