Day 22 – Fit For Life Challenge

Happy Day 22!☀️Hope your day is starting on a good note! I always say.. it’s a good day to have a good day! A positive outlook is a gift you can give yourself. You can decide to frown and grumble today. You can look for the negative in everything. You can also look at this day as a gift just waiting to be opened. You can be cheerful and look for the good. Either way, it’s your choice! God designed each of us to be different, unique, and wonderful. But having a negative outlook isn’t His plan. A negative outlook switches off the lights of hope. It changes love to hate, and peace to stress. A positive outlook does just the opposite. It turns on the lights. It ignites love and it looks for possibilities, not problems.

Attitude is more than just a state of mind. It can actually affect our health. It can influence how the brain manages the healing process. Studies show that a positive attitude goes a long way with someone fighting a disease. Evidence points to a very real correlation between the mind and the body. While we can’t change other people, or some circumstances, we can take control of our own lives and take steps toward transforming our outlook, and in turn, our health and wellness. We have a choice. We don’t have to become a victim of our circumstances. Outlook is not a consequence of what others do to me. I am in control of my outlook. I can opt to see the good. I can choose to see the beauty in life. I can appreciate what surrounds me. My choices alter the way I view life.
Proverbs 17:22 says,”A cheerful heart does good like medicine.”

Having a positive, uplifting attitude is contagious. Kindness goes a long way. I always think about my attitude as a boomerang… whatever I put out there, will come back at me.. good or bad. Everyone has stress, but we can choose to not allow it to destroy our life. Your happiness or your misery depends on your disposition and not your circumstances. It’s not so much what happens to us, as it is how we look at it and respond to it.

For our action step 22, I have three practical tips for improving your outlook.
1. Look for the good in people and situations. Sounds simple, but just try it today. Actively seek out the good. Then be grateful for it.
2. Learn to forgive and give others grace. Giving the gift of forgiveness, is more for you than the other person. Forgiving someone is not admitting they are right; it is letting go of being judge and jury and letting God be that.
3. Assume responsibility for your actions, behavior and emotions. Own your stuff. Jesus said,”The truth shall set you free.” This principle applies to accepting the truth about your own behavior. Take a good look at your own attitude and decide if it could use some adjustments. Pray and ask God to help you have a cheerful heart . It is good medicine! Decide today that’s it’s going to be a good day! 😀
