EMERGE! ‘Bloom Where You Are Planted’

A Season to Plant: Picture This

March 16th, 2022

Luke 8:15, ‘The seed that fell into good, fertile soil represents those lovers of truth who hear it deep within their hearts. They respond by clinging to the Word, keeping it clear as they endure all things in faith. This is the seed that will one day bear much fruit in their lives.’ (TPT)

We’ve been concentrating lately on the strength behind our thoughts and words, and the power of our conclusions and beliefs and certainly of not just our spoken words but also our mental verbiage. We have compelling and effective imaginations so no wonder the enemy often uses our thoughts and intentions for target practice. The more holes he can poke in our mental and emotional beings, the greater our weaknesses will be, which I believe is his intent.

The power of our minds is inconceivable. On any given day that is where you will find almost any person alive: lost in their thoughts. It is the most creative engine available to humanity. Just as from our hearts flow the wellsprings of life, so from our minds pour unimaginable potentials and possibilities. The creativity carved into mankind makes our inspirations and aspirations so very valuable. That same creative spark also makes us dangerous. From our ideas are born greatness. They also spawn badness. We have the ability to construct incredible buildings with our hands and to also blow things to smithereens. We can send people to the moon just on a joyride now and we also can annihilate an entire race with our weaponry. We can build someone up with our words and we can also smash them deep below the surface of shame with just a glare.

Isaiah 26:3 says, ‘Perfect, absolute peace surrounds those whose imaginations are consumed with You; they confidently trust in You.’ It is our job to protect our thoughts, our minds and the words and ideals which spring forth. We can either plant futuristic hope that when nurtured will blossom into promise; it’s fertility prosperous and productive. Or we can allow the enemy to sow a field of sorrow, ridden with anxiety, devastation and futility. The choice is ours…sow…plant wisely.

One of the greatest things you and I can ever do is BLOOM where we are PLANTED. Beautiful things grow from the fertile soil of a willing heart.
