How often in our society have we been labeled by what we own or don’t own? Why is it that religion says we have to be a certain way to be holy? These are just a few questions that we ask when we are navigating our journey with Christ. As human, our flesh always wants to be acceptable. This means that even in our spiritual walk, we sometimes get lost in the affirmation of others. Oh, but this is so far from the truth!
LadyBug, we are not going to be judged by what car we drove or house we owned. We are not granted a crown for the best landscape job or biggest swimming pool. What does matter to our Father is what our heart is like. It matters how we treated and loved others. It matters how often we praise and thank Him. It matters how well we are obedient to Him. Those are the things that define what is precious to our hearts. If we love God above all, then we seek to do those things that He has asked. What treasure will you lay before God? Will it be treasures of prayers for the souls of others? Will it be a treasure of helping the momma of 4 feed her babies? Will it be the treasure of standing in the gap for the drug addict down the street?
The treasure of a heart focused on God is far more valuable than the most valuable item of the world.
