Experiencing the love of Jesus for the first time is so overwhelming. Do you remember how hard it was for you to put in to words? The feeling of having a love so deep wash over your whole body. Your loneliness was gone and you just felt so peaceful, so loved!
You know as well as I do LadyBug, that we experience many firsts as we grow older. You know like, first love, first car, first job, first child, but there are a very few things we experience for the first time and only time. You find yourself excited and nervous. But then everything calms down and the “new” has worn off, so to speak. You find yourself in a routine and no long all excited over the newness of it all.
Sometimes if we aren’t careful, we will lose that excitement and we begin to think of our spiritual life as routine. We get caught up in the obligations and forget why we are truly serving. We get so wrapped up in everything we that we feel it’s a chore to serve God. When we start feeling that, we begin to get lukewarm, and that LadyBug is a dangerous place to be.
Even though the excitement of all those other firsts may die down, our experience with the first time we fell in love with Christ does not have to. Don’t stay caught up in the matter of the flesh, rather seek the servanthood of the spirit, and the feeling of the warmth of the Light flooding within you.
