How many times have we heard “follow God with all your heart, soul and spirit and He will always provide”? If you have been a Christian for any length of time, I am sure you have heard it more than once. When do we fully understand what “following” God means? It’s more than just accepting salvation and going to church. Following means you have a relationship with Him. You talk to Him and you listen to Him. When you follow someone or something, it means you are interested in that person or thing and you want to know more.
When we follow God, we are seeking His guidance in the decisions that we make. Regardless of what we think it should look like, God has a better way of providing for us than we can imagine. Remember when the disciples brought in the nets and they were empty? Well, Jesus wouldn’t let them stop there. He told them to cast them again. When they chose to listen and threw the nets back, they witnessed more than just full nets. They saw how God will meet the need.
By following God because you love Him and trust Him, you will find provisions for all things beyond just your needs. Just when you think all has been done, sit back and watch God fill your nets.
