Just Be 30-Day Challenge

Just Be-YOU-tiful – Day One
By Michelle Gott

WEBSTER says ‘Beautiful’ means having beauty; possessing qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.

Synonyms: Alluring; graceful

GOD says in I Peter 3:3-4, ‘Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God (NKJV).’

In our current ‘world-wind’, we women are finding ourselves caught in a constant climate change of comparisons, cliques, class and crushing restrictions to be ‘Best in Show’. Gone are the days when etiquette, poise and grace adorned us like pearls on an heirloom necklace. Even our daughters and our granddaughters drink from of a fountain of ‘Never Enough’ and eat from a table called ‘Too Much’.

Today, we don’t ‘get to’ snap candid shots of memorable moments; rather, it’s the 51st snap that de-‘pics’ the picture perfect pose of ourselves, our children & grandchildren, our marriages and our homes; the final snap wrapped in layers of snarls, curse words and threats to just smile happily, look perfect, hide the REAL you. It is not global warming that is changing the face of our standards, honey; it is the ever-requiring race to BE someone else and to possess what someone else possesses. We have misplaced an incredible truth for a slave-mastered lie, which is — simply rest, let go, sink into — who our Heavenly Father created you and me to be and to have what He purposed for us to have.

We have one most important purpose, and that is to just be YOU, the BeYOUtiful daughter He created you to be. While Man looks on the outward appearance, remember, God looks upon the heart (1 Samuel 16:7 AMP). So guard your heart for from it flow the wellsprings of life (Proverbs 4:23 TPT)! Beautiful Daughter, YOU are precious in God’s sight.

DAY ONE CHALLENGE: Write-out one scripture about how God sees you!
