Love Your Neighbor Challenge — Day 16
July 16th
Love is without regret.
My beautiful cousin died a couple of years ago. It was sudden and unexpected. He coded four times that day and the last time he did, the hospital staff couldn’t bring him back. He was 47. He left behind a wife, children, and a sister.
The world is full of uncertainty and we don’t know what the next day will bring. When we fail to control our thoughts and let ourselves be easily offended, we run the risk of saying something we’ll regret.
Love is without regret.
So, my Christian sisters and brothers, I want to encourage you to consider the condition of your heart. If you find yourself easily offended or struggling with negative feelings for another person–deal with your heart and your thoughts. Being civil with others is better than being unkind. But once you submit your heart to God’s love, it will transform you. God’s love isn’t saying the right words through gritted teeth. It is expansive and authentic.
It’s not too late to join our month-long Love Your Neighbor Challenge! This has the power to change your world.
