Love Your Neighbor Challenge — Day 28
Love Bears Burdens
In the parable of the Good Samaritan, there’s not a single recorded word of what the Samaritan man said to the Jewish man he rescued.
Sometimes love doesn’t need to say a word. It just needs to be there.
When our friends go through difficult times, it’s tempting to want to string together the right set of words to make their situation better. Or the temptation is to stay away because we won’t be able to say the right thing.
But love bears burdens. Love enters the pain of our friends and is present with them. You don’t need the right words. Some situations can’t be improved by words alone. Sometimes we just need to be willing to be in the presence of pain with our friends.
Our Love Your Neighbor Challenge ends on Friday! But it’s not too late to join us! This has the power to change your world.
