Love Your Neighbor Challenge — Day 9
Love means giving other people the benefit of the doubt.
When someone has done something to offend you, love is curious about the behavior and often tells a more loving story. When someone cuts you off in traffic, love might say, that driver probably didn’t see me. When someone says something mean, love might say, it sounds like this person is having a tough day. Perhaps she’s coming across harsher than she realizes.
Love gives other people a chance to make things right. The next time someone does something that you don’t agree with, ask yourself, what’s the nicest thing I can choose to believe about this person. Choose a loving thought.
