Making a Statement

Every day we make a statement with what we wear. And what we wear makes a statement about what we value. With one glance an outfit or an accessory can speak volumes as to what is important to us. I believe fashion is a story we tell without having to speak.

A few years ago I started a fashion brand called Woodland Mermaid to promote a greater care and concern for the environment. Besides promoting a love for nature I felt it was important to incorporate inspirational and uplifting words and visuals to share my own personal values. Two of the main statements I have desired to make with the Woodland Mermaid brand are Love and Peace.

I believe what we love we want to take care of. And to carry out that love we take action to show that we love what we care about. Love brings about peace and has the power to create a unity to ignite a flame that moves hearts to “Be The Change”.

To me, making a statement with jewelry is a creative way to shine, to inspire. And one of my favorite Woodland Mermaid jewelry sets are the Peace & Love Wood Statement earrings. The earrings are light in weight yet larger and were designed to be inspirational ART pieces.

If you think about it, we are all unique works of art and life is like a humungous gallery. Each one of us have different styles and preferences and with those styles and preferences comes an opportunity to speak our values and passions. Fashion is a way to enhance the works of art that we are. It is a way to give a voice to what lies deep within our hearts.
