ME-ssentials – Chosen – Day Fourteen
ESSENTIALS for Me to Be: CHOSEN
September 14th, 2021
What’s your ESSENTIAL?
Essential: absolutely necessary; indispensable; the essence of a thing; inherent and intrinsic, vital
John 15:16, ‘”You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you; so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name [as My representative], He may give you.”’ (AMP)
I think of my own story while reading this verse and I know without a doubt it is true; He chose me. But it goes back so very far. Before the beginning of time, I believe He was choosing me. In the Garden of Eden, as He was walking in the cool of the day, in search of the man and woman He had created to spend time with Him who had just broken their covenant to God Almighty, I believe He was choosing me. I believe He was choosing me even then because He agreed to not wipe humanity out for good, but instead He decided that beyond the consequences of their choices there would be further chances. With each blinding mistake, each glaring poor decision, mankind made, the God of the Universe was still choosing me. And with every disastrous outcome, He continued to think of me; while He designed the plan to send His Son to earth to take my place to pay a debt I could never in any lifetime afford to pay, He was choosing me.
I am reminded today as I think of all the minute details He has sutured together for me, woven so intricately in place, how cautiously He chose me also. No one else could travel the path I have tripped down and come out on the other side with the stories I am able to share of just how I got here. There isn’t one description He forgot, nor one blunder I made that He isn’t using for my good and His glory. There isn’t a wasted sentence or a misplaced punctuation mark or a unique transgression He is failing to turn for my benefit. He is a good, good Father, and He has chosen both you an me to be included in His family and to carry His name, to be His fragrance, to wear His image, to bear His fruit, to be His favored son, His cherished daughter.
