No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—its painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained this way. Hebrews 12:11 (NLT)
Sister, we all know that being disciplined is never any fun! As a child it hurt our hearts and our bottoms. But parents discipline us so that we can learn to know right from wrong. They want us to be able to make wise decisions as we grow older. It is much the same way with our Father in heaven. He doesn’t correct us just because He thinks we can be perfect. It is quite the opposite. He disciplines so that we are able to understand that we can only walk in His perfection. In order to know His beautiful perfection in our lives, we must be willing to grow through the correction and choose rightness in our walk.
He never said we would know everything the moment we choose salvation. But He did say He would give us hope and help in time of need. He did promise that He would not leave us or forsake us even though we get in a big mess sometimes. What a gracious and loving God! To know that after the correction, He is there to love us into a peaceful harvest of rightness. I know I sure cannot do that on my own, nor would I want to for fear of what it would look like.
LadyBug you are not the only one who is disciplined by our Father. We have all been there and will face correction more than once in our imperfect walk. But glory, He is there beside us!
Let us know that discipline is only for a moment so that peace will abound forever in our right living.
Much Love,
