Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out. Acts 1:18 (ESV)

It is thought that this verse is referring to the field that the priests bought with the 30 pieces of silver that he was given for the betrayal of Jesus. After realizing what he had done, Judas took the money back to the priests in an effort to make things right. But they would not take it, so he flung it at them. Knowing that he was going to purchase land with it, the priests knew they couldn’t keep the money, so they bought the land where Judas had hung himself.

Acquiring things because of our fleshly desires will certainly lead to death and destruction. We then try to make it right only to cause ourselves to be caught up in turmoil within ourselves. We find ourselves convicted because we know that we can’t manipulate the consequences when we have acted in inequity. Sure, we can maybe change the consequences we see, but we cannot change the consequences that we will face in our spirit.

LadyBug it is up to us to choose integrity and rightness in all things that we do. We must trust that God will keep His word to be our provision for all things in our lives. We can’t be found selling out just because we think we need the takings.

Let us acquire those things that are of integrity as we live a life that is honorable to God.

Much Love,
