And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say; “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong and he never tempts anyone else. James 1:13 (NLT)
How many times have we heard this statement? Sometimes others are stuck in the religion of believing that since God is in control, it is He who tempts us into sin. That is so far from the truth!!! God is a good and loving God who desires to have a loving relationship with us. He is a God of joy, love, hope and life. He is the God who will deliver us from the temptation. Many want to use this as an excuse for giving into temptation. If we find ourselves in the middle of a mess because we succumbed to temptation, then it is because of the adversary. He is the one who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy everything about our lives; therefore, he will send any temptation toward us in order to move us away from God. But we have a Father who loves us and will fight for us when we trust in Him. He will remove the temptation and even rescue us from it.
Just the same as God will not tempt us, He will not partake in any temptation from us. By this I mean that we cannot say to Him, “God I love you so much, so I deserve to have such and such.” Um, NO! That is not who God is. He blesses us because HE loves us, not because we deserve anything! He is what makes us worthy to receive any blessing that He gives.
We need to trust that God knows what tempts us before we do and allow Him to move it out of the way. He will not cause us harm, but He WILL protect us from it.
LadyBug remember that God does not desire to see you in a place of temptation. He loves you far too much to see you hurting. But you have to trust Him with everything!
Let us know the Father loves us and is the deliverer from the temptation of the evil one.
Much Love,
