A gracious woman retaineth honor: and a strong men retain riches. Proverbs 11:16 (KJV)
I love getting into the book of Proverbs! There are so many treasure and wise words in its pages. Words that truly inspire me to weigh my actions. Words that encourage me to be more that what the enemy tries to say I am. Lessons that teach me. As Maya Angelou wrote, “Do your best until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” Proverbs brings me to this “do better” place.
So, as I read this I see the words gracious, retain, honor, strong, and riches. I know that gracious is being pleasant and showing the divine grace of God. I know that retain means to hold. Honor means to hold in high esteem. Strong is simply power and riches are material possessions. Therefore, a woman who is pleasant and willing to walk in the divine grace of God will always be held in high esteem just like a strong man who has the ability to hold on to his riches because of his power.
LadyBug it’s pretty simple today. When we walk within the grace of God we will hold onto the respect that comes with being pleasant and caring.
Let us be women who are gracious so that we will retain the honor that God has bestowed upon us.
Much Love,
