Later the LORD sent this message to Kind Ahaz, “Ask the LORD your God for a sign of confirmation, Ahaz. Make it as difficult as you want – as high heaven or as deep as the place of the dead.” Isaiah 7:10-11 (NLT)
God has sent Isaiah to give a message to King Ahaz. One that God was so ready to give that even when King Ahaz refused to test Him, God gave Him the confirmation anyway. How often do we ask for confirmation and then we refuse to accept what God says? We ask for confirmation so we know that we are following God’s will in our lives, yet as soon as He give it to us, we turn once again to doubt. Sometimes we are so stubborn that we just flat out refuse to ask for a confirmation, so we walk around doubting that we heard correctly, leading us to be stagnant and not utilizing the gifts for the calling. It happens to all of us at some point in our lives. Praise God that He knows us enough that He will go right ahead and give us that confirmation. No matter what, when He knows we need to hear something, He will say it anyway, even if it is something that will step on our toes.
It is our stubbornness that gets in the way of our relationship with God. It is the major cause of us getting caught up in the rhetoric of what looks and sounds right in man’s eyes.
God was literally inviting Ahaz to seek a confirmation, but because he didn’t want to appear doubtful or go against the law, he refused to ask.
LadyBug always know that it is okay to ask for confirmation when you are unsure of something. Sometimes we face big things, and we want to be sure that we are hearing God correctly. Just remember, He will always confirm what He has promised.
Let us not be so stubborn that we miss God’s invitation.
Much Love,
