Seasons Of Auto Ownership
To everything turn, turn turn. There is a season turn, turn turn as the Byrds told us in the 60’s, or perhaps better the Bible told us long before that. A bit hard for me to grasp is Habakkuk 2:3 from the stand point of “the vision tarries”, then it goes onto say, “it will not tarry”???
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.“
Puzzling, yet beautiful if you read William Gurnal’s commentary on this verse from the “Christian in Full Armor”. “As the herbs and flowers, which sleep all winter in their roots underground, when the time of spring approacheth, presently they start forth off their beds unperceived; thus will the promise in its season.”
Grasping onto the reality that many times we don’t see God doing anything in our difficult situations, it is by all means a season and to lose hope is a symptom of pride; that I know better than God when things should happen, reading further the Prophet lays me low.
4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.5 “Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man, And he does not stay at home.Because he enlarges his desire as hell, And he is like death, and cannot be satisfied, He gathers to himself all nations
And heaps up for himself all peoples. 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his—how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’?[ 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty.
As I meditate on that it occurs to me that many times that wine of desire for things could not be satisfied and I piled up debt, (woe to him who increases what is not his and piles up pledges/debts). That word, ‘WOE’ means, God is not in this, “Elvis has left the building”. I didn’t trust God that He would know mt need and want and supply it in due season. Speaking as one who has lived to regret my lack of faith. Go back to verse 4: “The righteous will live by faith”. Eeeeeeks that harder than it sounds, just sayin… God, help me press into you and trust your season….
Now speaking of seasons you car has a season, sort of a mileage season and your average repair costs should look something like this… According to Popular MechanicsAs you are saving money on your cars depreciation and insurance costs your maintenance costs do rise and planning for that season is kinda like the ant, as proverbs suggests.
