Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is sad. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 (NLT)

I have heard many prophecies regarding my life as well as the world. Each time, I relied on the Holy Spirit to let me know if it’s what God has intended for me or if it is something that the enemy has tried to place in my life as a stumbling block. Asking ourselves if it sits with our spirit and if it lines up with God is not going against the person who spoke those things, it is simply following the instructions that God wishes for us to use when it comes to prophetic words. We can always trust the Holy Spirit to bring words of truth to us through prophecy, but we must be able to recognize that God has already spoken those words to us before He sent them through another person.

This is why it is so important that we allow the Holy Spirit to move in a way that will manifest God’s presence. When we are given prophetic words, holding onto the good and letting go of the bad is exactly what this verse is instructing. Do not feel badly if some prophetic words do not sit with your spirit. Just hold on to what lines up with God’s words.

LadyBug listening to that small still voice of the Holy Spirit will always lead you to hearing what God is speaking to you. If need be, He will send a prophecy to confirm what you already know in your spirit.

Let us test all words for good and let go of those meant for harm. Remember, the enemy seeks to kill and destroy and sometimes that can be through false prophets.

Much Love,
