Today we are finding hope at the dinner table. It was in the middle of dinner with a Pharisee that Jesus’ feet were washed with tears and perfume. This woman who the Pharisee said was a sinner, came to Jesus and poured out everything she had that was of value. She poured out her heart in her tears full of shame and repentance. She was pouring out her worship as she poured out expensive perfume. She had broken a box that was extremely valuable, and it could never be used again. It would never hold perfume because it had been emptied on the feet of our Savior.
This was an amazing show of worship. Knowing that she was once a sinner she gave her best for her Savior. Not only was that act a selfless act of worship, but as I studied out the way she entered and approached Jesus was an act of worship as well. She had pursued her Savior and when she found Him she approached Him quietly and with reverence. Though the Pharisee had called her a sinner, Jesus ultimately called her forgiven.
LadyBug, Jesus loves it when we love on Him. He wants us to pursue Him and worship Him with all that we have. He wants us to pour out our hearts as we sit at His feet. He loves to love you and He wants to have that intimate relationship with you.
Let us worship in a way that brings us to the feet of Jesus. Let us learn to anoint Him with our love.
