STAY AT HOME SUNDAY SCHOOL: AN INTERVIEW WITH KATE
By Wendy Gutierrez
This week I interviewed my friend, Kate, about the material that I have had a small hand in creating each week for kids who cannot attend Sunday School right now.
Here is what she told me:
Wendy Gutierrez: Tell me a little about yourself.
Kate Milosevic : My name is Kate and I am a Brit who met the love of my life on a short-term mission trip and settled his land. I started writing kid’s ministry material because the local stuff was thin and foreign stuff did not translate well.
WG: Why did you decide to offer Sunday School at Home packs during this time?
KM: When the virus hit, I saw a lot of people scramble for church material to pass out to parents. I saw multiple kid ministry leader call out for identical resources and try to reinvent the wheel. Meanwhile everything moved onto screens. Honestly, live streaming does not work with my 5-year-old, and I am probably not the only parent that’s true for. In response I made a craft heavy pack, screen free and hands on. I called for those people who were scrambling to join in to fill it, a few even responded. I am not the only one who saw this need and jumped, some are still going, others have stopped. I am blessed to have gotten to work with some brilliant creatives and resource different churches around the globe. I plan to continue until the end of June.
Thanks, Kate, for sharing a little bit about yourself and your desire to give to others during this time!! Free Sunday School at Home material is available each week Thursday through Monday.
