1. Write your own definition of “Discernment”.
2. In what areas of your life do you personally need discernment? Examples may include, finances, family, relationships, business partners, ministry, spiritual matters, etc.
3. Read Philippians 1:9&10.
a. Describe you see. What stands out?
b. Is it possible to have love without having discernment too?
c. In what ways is discernment a manifestation of love?
4. Read 2 Timothy 3:13-16
a. Why is discernment necessary as followers of Jesus Christ?
b. How does internalizing God’s Word fuel our discernment?
5. List 5 steps you are taking to fuel discernment within your character.

Hebrews 5:14, Discernment must be trained.
James 1:5, God will give wisdom to those who ask for it.
Proverbs 18:15, Discernment is a sign of intelligence.
I Samuel 16:7; John 7:24, Discernment sees beyond appearance.
John 16:13, The Holy Spirit provides discernment.
Psalm 11:10, Discernment begins with the reverential awe of God, aka, the fear of the LORD.
Romans 12:2, Discernment requires a renewed mind.
Psalms 119:11; Hebrews 4:12, God’s word provides discernment.
