the BLESSING
Identifying the Goodness of God
November 11th, 2022
Romans 8:31-32, ‘So what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us? For God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son. And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice of us all. He certainly won’t withhold from us anything else He has to give.’ (TPT)
Love is a Four-Letter Word
We were talking the other day about God’s great gift to mankind, His Son. Way back to the beginning of time, we find a God Who dreamt about you and me, who fashioned us after Himself. He longed for us. He wanted us. He chose us. Through a series of devastating events over time and idiotic choices made by mankind listening to the voice of the enemy not the heart of the Father, the Father then regretted having designed us. Imagine this? Creating something you are so vested in and fascinated with, then having that invention blow up in your face and facing deep anguish and sadness for its conception, but determining you were still all in and would do what ever it took for its achievement, including giving up your most important and beloved possession for its success.
That is essentially what God did on behalf of mankind, on behalf of you and me. He chose us, even when we failed and were messy and beyond recognition. Even when we were dastardly, He gave. The creation of us, blew up in His hands, erupted in His heart, and He decided He wasn’t done yet. He sent a part of Himself, deity, the God of the Universe, putting on skin and coming into our filthiness, to understand and know us and to rescue us from ourselves. There is not another name for the gift God gave than love. And His love for us was not passive; it was very active, and it demonstrated the exertion of it, the cost of it, the finality of it forever.
If you feel you are unloved, if you think you are unworthy, if you feel forgotten or passed over or unseen, maybe you haven’t thought about relinquishing yourself to the God of the Universe. He did it for me, and He also did it for you, gave an eternal gift, so we could know worth and feel loved and be chosen and seen. There will never be a greater blessing given by a good God to the people He created. And I’m so grateful that He did! I invite you to accept it and know Him too.
John 3:16, ‘For here is the way God loved the world—He gave His only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in Him, will never perish but experience everlasting life.’ (TPT)
