the BLESSING
Identifying the Goodness of God

Romans 8:31-32, ‘So what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us? For God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son. And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice of us all. He certainly won’t withhold from us anything else He has to give.’ (TPT)
the IMMUTABLE GOD
In the beginning of time, we find the Spirit of God hovering over an inky void where He would speak life into existence and it would flourish over all the earth. He would spit into the mud and build a being, breathing into dry lungs and the dead bones would begin to dance. God’s love so great for mankind, it would conquer death and overcome the power of sin, waging war to win back all the enemy has stolen, to repair for eternity all the broken damage caused by Satan. The God of the Universe is in the same relentless pursuit of humanity’s heart still today as He was on Day One of Creation.
That is because one of the greatest attributes of Holy God is His immutability. He is changeless. He is determined. His heart yearned for fellowship, and out of that beating heart, we were born. To that end, He has unrelentingly been coming after mankind. Until the final battle lights up the night sky before Jesus comes to bring us home for eternity, still will God be unwaveringly and persistently seeking our homage to Him. His desire for us does not nor will it ever change.
Our loyal love is shoddy and faulty and incomparable to the love of Almighty God. He can not deny Himself so His love will outrun us continuously. The only real love us beings know anything about is what we perceive of God’s. We cannot love like He loves. It goes against the sin nature always existent inside of us. But the great love of God will be as perfect and perpetual into life everlasting as it was in the Garden of Eden. We see that great love of God displayed even in the simple act of kindness as He sews Adam and Eve clothing from fig leaves to hide their nakedness and shame once they saw themselves through the eyes of humanity instead of through the lens of their Creator. We cannot fathom the deep love of God written in the blood of His Son Who He sent to redeem us. We come to realize the magnanimous grace of Holy God as He rectifies our brokenness, making all things whole once again for Himself into eternity. King James says in Malachi 3:6, “For I am the Lord; I change not.” In the Message, Malachi 3:6-7 says, “I am God—yes, I AM. I haven’t changed. And because I haven’t changed, you, the descendants of Jacob, haven’t been destroyed. You have a long history of ignoring my commands. You haven’t done a thing I’ve told you. Return to Me so I can return to you,” says the God-of-the-Angel-Armies.’
AW Tozer writes about God’s immutability in his incredible book, The Attributes of God: ‘God cannot change for the better. Since He is perfectly holy, He has never been less holy than He is now and can never be holier than He is and has always been. Neither can God change for the worse. Any deterioration within the unspeakably holy nature of God is impossible.’ There is nothing we can count on to be consistent and changeless except for God. What a blessing…He is forever holy and forever merciful and good and forever unchanging. IMMUTABLE.
Isaiah 40:27-31, ‘Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.’ (MSG)
