Hello boys and girls! Welcome to September StoryTime with Ms. Brittany. Today’s book comes from the Alice in Bibleland series, and it is called, “The Story of the Loaves and the Fishes.” A little girl named Alice was picnicking one day. After she had eaten her lunch, she began to read the Bible Storybook that she had brought along with her. Alice loved reading because “Reading is the magic key to take you where you want to be.” (3) The book turns into a magical Bible storyland. Jesus and his disciples were roaming around, looking for a spot to rest. However, other people were so in awe of Jesus, that these people followed him around everywhere. The crowd grew and grew until it reached five thousand people.
However, there was one big problem?
There was not enough food to feed five thousand people, yet, Jesus felt He had to offer something. A nameless little boy steps forward to hand Jesus five small loaves of bread and two tiny fish. One disciple was still doubtful about the among of food, but as Jesus kept talking, something great happened. The food kept multiplying until everyone in the crowd was fed. In fact, twelve loaves of bread were left over.
Alice walked back to her house through a magic screen, and was excited about all she had learned in Bibleland. She learned about the power of sharing all that little boy had to give Alice also learned to trust in God. By using rhyming words, and illustrations, children will take delight in this Bible story. This simple story is catchy, thanks to the rhyming, but it gives children a general idea of what a bible story is. This book is short, simple, and to the point. I give it five stars.
